ONLINE-ONLY MAIL: Sending a traditional paper letter creates about 140 grams of CO2 due to the process of manufacturing, printing, delivery and decomposition. On the other hand, sending a regular email generates only 4 grams of CO2 footprint.
The USPS delivers about 515 letters per capita per year. Can you imagine that? A typical year of incoming postal mail can add 136kg of emissions to your carbon footprint. To put that into perspective, that’s the equivalent of driving 200 miles in a car. This has a serious negative impact on the environment, and that’s why our office supports emails over postal paper letters.
Every communication made by email (rather than through the post office) helps the environment. With this small changes you’ll conserve approx. 20 trees, 7,000 gallons of water and prevent global warming emission!
Save energy. Save paper. Think before you print.
